The Irish newspaper, Sunday Independent<\/i>, has revealed that Activision<\/i> has purchased the middleware developer DemonWare<\/i>. Now, while DemonWare may not be familiar to gamers, many of the most popular current Xbox Live games, such as Rainbow Six: Vegas, Call of Duty 3<\/i> and Saint\u00b4s Row<\/i>, use DemonWare\u00b4s software for multiplayer matchmaking and lobbies.
\nNo exact sum for the purchase has been disclosed, but Sunday Independent speculates that the sum might be up to \u008015 million. If the deal turns out to be true, Activision would get an exclusive access to DemonWare\u00b4s products \u0096 leaving publishers such as THQ, Ubisoft, Sega<\/i> and Atari<\/I> in the cold.<\/p>\n
