British game publisher and developer Eidos announced it has opened a new studio in Montreal, Canada. The studio will develop games for PC and next-generation consoles (Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii). Any new information about games currently under development was not revealed.
In the past year Eidos has opened studios also in Sweden and Hungary. In particular, Battlestations: Midway was developed in Hungary. The new Canadian studio will be lead by General Manager Stephane Dastous, previously from Ubisoft Montreal.
SCi Entertainment, the owner of Eidos, will recruit over 100 new talents during the year 2007 and will raise the total number of employees to 350 in the near future.
