As E3 2006 reached its end last weekend, a few rumours still managed to rear their heads from the aftermath.
Starting from an article posted on IGN last friday, press representatives have claimed to have witnessed Mythic Entertainment running their upcoming PC title Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning on the Xbox 360. Not only was the game running fluently on the console, but it was also playable on the dedicated PC server. Demonstrating how effectively the connectivity between a PC and an Xbox 360 works, the boys at Mythic ran around server interacting with players playing on PCs. Mythic Entertainment said that they had been using the 360 to play with gamers using the PC test stands throughout the day, without anyone noticing.

This can be seen as an example of how easy developing for the 360 is, however Mythic stressed the fact that Warhammer Online is not infact confirmed for console release. Upon being asked on the possibility of an upcoming console launch, Mythic Entertainment admitted to considering the fact of an Xbox 360 and PS3 launch. However, if there were to be a console launch, Mythic Entertainment is considering simplifying the game for the MMORPG-uneducated console market. Effectively eliminating any possibility of real time interaction between PCs and consoles.

Any console versions of Mythic Entertainment´s Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning have not been confirmed. Hypothetically, if there were to be a 360 launch, gamers should expect it to appear no earlier than late 2007.

We´ll keep you posted.
