According to Xbox Live´s programming director, Larry Hryb, Epic´s newly released Xbox 360 action game Gears of War has already overtaken Bungie´s Halo 2 as the most popular game on Xbox Live.
Despite big hits like Ghost Recon and Call of Duty 2, Halo 2 has for a long time maintained its spot on the top of the most-played charts with new content in the works even now.
While Gears of War may be the most played game on the whole Live system as of now, Call of Duty 3 and Contra have also made an impact among gamers and are now holding the second and the third place on the international charts.
